It is estimated that his collection is worth around $800,000, but Thomasson is currently not considering selling, although there is no doubt that many museums, publishers, or individuals would like to grab a few specimens of his treasures.
Beside collecting videogames, Thomasson teaches 2D animation, video game design and history at the University at Buffalo, Canisius, and usually sets aside about three hours weekly for gaming.

The World's Biggest videogame collection belongs to Michael Thomasson from Buffalo
Written by Damir BrodjanacReading time is around minutes.
A few days ago the Guinness World Records has confirmed that Michael Thomasson from Buffalo is the new record holder with respect to the largest collection of video games. After the official Guinness team found that a man in his archives has incredible 10,607 titles, they declared him the new recorder, and Thomasson allegedly said that he found several more titles, even though this was enough to overthrow the previous record of 8,616 games from 2010.
